Right now all my food related posts appear on my homepage. When I finally change over to some blog software they will appear here without all the other non-food stuff.
Chow Down Phoenix! "Scouring the valley for exceptional eats" - A food blog with ratings.
Chowhound Southwest message board - An active food community. I tend to disagree with a lot of the restaurants touted on the board, but I've found some excellent restaurants mentioned there too.
The Expatriate Mainer "A displaced Mainer's views on food in Phoenix and other occasional random thoughts"
Feasting in Phoenix - Restaurant reviews only and highly detailed restaurant visits.
yelp - It looks like a more organized version of Chowhound and it even contains elements of the type of food site I'd like to do. I also think they're trying too hard to be like myspace.
Arcadia News - Restaurant reviews from an east Phoenix community newspaper.
CenPho Mavens "All about life in central Phoenix" - Restaurants and central Phoenix attractions. I used to think the restaurant information was extremely brief, but then I clicked on one of the links, where all the good review stuff is hidden. There is more to the reviews than I thought.
daily eats - Food and restaurants.
Darrin Chandler's East Valley Food Guide - I'm pretty sure this site is dead.
eGullet Southwest message board - Another food community, but they're small, and not very active.
Foo(d) Bar "Yet Another Foodie Blog" - Restaurants, food, wine, beer, and cocktails.
PHX Rail Food "A guide to interesting restaurants along the 20-mile light rail route that will connect Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa" - Restaurants with a theme.
The Pizza Locust "Devouring the world's pizza, one slice at a time... and maybe some other food along the way" - Pizza.
What the Jester had for Dinner - JK Grence gets around to all sorts of different spots in the valley. He and I differ in food tastes more than Lynn and I do so if you don't like my tastes try his.
AZ Central - If five stars was my top rating only one restaurant in Phoenix would get it. Last I checked AZ Central gave out 44.
AZ Family - The site requires registration so I never read it.
Echo Magazine - Do they ever eat at a restaurant they don't like? They really do find interesting places though.
Fodor's - I find them useful for out of town food so why not in town too? I go by their descriptions though, not their picks.
Phoenix New Times - I have a hard time with the writing, but I find the reviews have a tendency to coincide with my tastes. (That comment was in reference to Stephen Lemons, the former New Times critic. I have no idea about the new critic.)
Chow Bella by Michele Laudig of the Phoenix New Times.
Feeding Frenzy by Howard Seftel of the Arizona Republic/AZ Central.
Rameniac - I have a weakness for Japanese food and this guy has an obsession for ramen (which I don't share, but I can relate). It's quite educational for the ramen enthusiast.
AZ Farmers Markets - All about AZ farmers' markets, including schedules.
Restaurant.com - Gift certificates at a fraction of their retail value.
Maricopa County restaurant inspections - Search the health scores of any restaurant inspected in Maricopa County (a lower score is better).
Edible Phoenix - A local food magazine. Their calendar of food related events is useful.
The Cook's Thesaurus - A food encyclopedia with pictures.
Food TV's Encyclopedia - A food encyclopedia without pictures.
Slow Food - The opposite of fast food.
chef's blogs - A directory of food related blogs.
Restaurants and Reviews by Tom Fitzmorris - Tom Fitzmorris is the only food critic I've ever read who knows food, has good taste, and writes well. His reviews of New Orlean's restaurants tend to be accurate even if his rating system is meaningless. The Talk Food with Tom Fitzmorris food board is a good read too.
